Reach

Fractal art shows that math, seen as factual and consistent, can produce things that humans, who are emotional and erratic, can enjoy. It shows us that art is a natural part of the universe and while the universe comes pre-filled with some amazing art, it also comes with the tools for people to create and appreciated their own. I really enjoy working with fractal art because, like the universe, I find it's details, fluidity, and infinite possibilities interesting and stimulating.

Seeing a piece of art that reaches out and makes you take another look is a wonderful thing. It's like it's saying "Hay! Let's talk!" With that greeting, the two of you then proceed to have a conversation, with you visually examining it, and it stimulating emotions and ideas. "Reach" is a piece that reaches out to you to visually converse with it; to have a deeper conversation with it. The "picture frames" seem to be unable to contain this piece's desire to expand out to communicate with as many people as possible. Once finding you to enjoy some company with it, the piece begins to speak. Telling your eyes to move along the soft curving lines that have gone out so far to capture your attention. Past the frames, which mumble under their breath for having failed to contain the piece from reaching out. Finally, your eyes speak to the center of the piece. Understanding what Speak Visual is all about. Understanding that images have a way with words.
